Feeling Good From Within

Feeling good on the inside is important to living a happy and balanced life. But not every day is easy. I have noticed a lot of people reporting that they don’t feel ‘good enough’ from within…instead they place how they feel about themselves on external things (e.g., how much they get paid, promotions, how much they weigh, etc). The problem with this is that when these external things are not going ‘well’ you beat yourself up and feel crap.

My interest in the issue of feeling good from within began when I read a book called “Daring Greatly” by Brené Brown. In this book Brené talks a lot about the idea of feeling good enough within yourself to accept who you are, your vulnerabilities, and your strengths and weaknesses. For example, if you don’t get the promotion you were hoping for, or you don’t earn as much money as you thought you would, you might feel unhappy about what happened, however, you still have your sense of self-worth.
